You are THREE years old today!
I know you have never really met your Grandmother and I, but I want you to know that we think of you everyday. We would have loved to been there for the first time you crawled. Your first step. Your first word.
It’s not because we don’t want to be there. You are being kept from us.

We would have sent presents, but they get returned. Our calls go unanswered, as well as our texts.

It doesn’t seem real. I have a Grand Daughter.

I really miss you. I hope one day you will get to know me and your Grand Mother.

Last night I had a dream. You were two years old and I hadn’t seen you in over a year but here you were. Your mom and dad let us see you and your brother. You were walking and talking. You were talking at a very high level, much higher level than a two year old should be able to talk, and I was just blown away at how good you were talking and forming long complex sentences… and I started crying. Just thinking about how much I have missed.
I hope to see you soon.

Yesterday was your dad’s birthday. It was an ordinary day, but it shouldn’t have been.
We should have had donuts at work, and met afterwards with you and your brother at some restaurant to celebrate. But we didn’t.
It was the first time I have ever not reached out, talked to, or been with your dad on his birthday.
I miss your dad.

I finally did it, I started writing the story.

Stevie, I’m your grandfather. Your dad’s dad. I don’t know what they have told you happened to me and your grandmother, but we have wanted to see you everyday since the day you were born.

The last time I seen you, you were about 9 months old. March of 2024, and I’ve missed you every day since.
